A bill to require the owner of church property to be clearly stated in the deed or trust agreement will not be heard this legislative session, its author said Friday.Rep. Pam Peterson said she is pulling House Bill 1725 because of misunderstandings over the measure. The bill was awaiting action on the House floor after winning committee passage last month.The intent of the bill is to bring uniformity to property laws, said Peterson, R-Tulsa. She said the bill would not infringe on freedom of religion."It’s still alive for next session, and we can take the time to hopefully bring some people together and talk about the issue and get it passed with more education,” she said. see more on NewsOK.com
